LOGLINE

An “adultolescent” musician escapes his mother and teams up with a group of misfit Christmas carolers on his unlikely path to stardom.

SYNOPSIS

Shane Mulligan, 36, has a dream of one day becoming a rock star, only problem is, he’s still living in his parents’ basement in Michigan.  After convincing his mother to give him one year to pursue his dream, he hits the road for California.  A pit stop in Blythe, California on the Arizona border, nets him a job singing holiday carols at the Blythe Holiday Emporium, but disaster strikes when the Emporium is destroyed in a freak gas explosion.  Undeterred, and with of newfound faith in Jesus, the quartet, “Holiday Spectacular” –which includes an elf (AC), an elderly bassist (Joseph), and the beautiful Amy (whom Shane falls for in spite of her emotional baggage due her parents’ recent tragic death) –treks to Orange County in an RV to spend the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday with Amy’s family.  On the way, the motley crew of misfits win a Battle of the Bands propelling them to a coveted slot at the Hollywood Bowl as openers for the rugged country legend, Alan Jackson.  Their big appearance is threatened, however, when their cat falls into a magical travel portal and they have to chase him to Manila and rescue him from the notorious restauranteur, Mr. Wong.  The band makes it back with the cat, Mr. Snoogums, in time to rehearse with Alan Jackson and the lovely, but critical Coach Rebecca of the Swedish Bikini Team, and all seems to be coming up roses, but when Johnny Langley, the big-time Grammy (and Nobel Prize winning) music producer covets Shane as his new solo pop/rock find, the up and coming star is forced to do some deep soul searching with Jesus to find the answers he seeks about what is the right thing to do: should he leave his friends, or stick with them?
